A coming-of-age story set in racially-charged 1960s South Carolina. Lily runs away from her abusive father and decides to track down information about her mother.  She ends up on a bee farm run by three sisters in Tiburon, South Carolina. Lily learns about life, love, racial equality (and inequality), as well as the bonds of friendship and of family. This book is beautifully written and uplifting—a great read!
